Another one bites the dust: W. Chester's Black Forest

Heard from a friend that the Black Forest Restaurant in West Chester has closed. There's a For Lease sign out front. Not sure anything new will go in that space, but hopefully we'll have a business story with details soon.

Have yall heard anything about the status of Vinyl? I have tried to have dinner there 3 times within the past couple of weeks and they were closed in the evenings. I tried to go on Friday and Saturday nights. I wonder if we might have another biting the dust?

Great question. I'll ask around and see if we can find out anything.

They haven't closed; they were closed for renovations until yesterday, according to a source. I'm going to call today to double-check!

Thanks girlies! I have $75 worth of gift certificates that I purchased from the following radio station website: http://www.wizfm.com/goout.asp?u=http://roc.radioonedeals.com/ You get 3 $25 gift certificates for only $25! I was hoping I was still going to get to use them and it sounds like I will. :)

So are they closed or not?

I wanted to make a reservation for my birthday a few weeks ago and the recording said "closed until further notice". Any updates?

Oh, the above comment is about Black Forest NOT Vinyl seeing as the OP was about Black Forest.

The Black Forest is definitely closed for real. It's for sale or lease. Forget the gift certificates, probably.

Vinyl: doesn't look good, no definitive answer at the moment.

Just wanted to update everyone. I got a call from Vinyl yesterday apologizing for not returning my call (I called last weekend to make a reservations) and that they were closed 10 days for renovations but are now open! I was hoping to still use my gift certificates. My hubby and I are going tomorrow for dinner.

Sounds like good news. They're also hosting a party this weekend for Tha Blast, according to CiN Weekly. I'm going to check it out. I'm excited to find out what's going on. And -- we heard that Jardin is opening to host an after party or something this weekend! yay, economic activity! I actually have a craving for halloumi. Vinyl had a cheese skewer appetizer featuring halloumi. Delicious!
