Want a side of gluttony with that?

Interesting food story on MSN today...

According to the article, the good folks at
Big Texan Steak Ranch are out to prove that things really are bigger in Texas. They'll be happy serve you a 72 ounce steak ($72) with a side of southern hospitality. The MSN story says over 8,000 people - including an 11-year-old boy and a 69-year-old woman - have consumed the big ol' hunk-a-beef. And get this: The record for fastest human consumption of this gargantuan steak is 9-1/2 minutes, set by former Cincinnati Reds pitcher Frank Pastore. You can even order one of these scary steaks online for $99.95. The site says it feeds 8-10 people!

Any local restaurants have similar food monstrosities?

I ate a rack of ribs, a half pound of pulled pork and half a chicken, along with various side dishes at a restaurant in Puerto Rico.

It was a horrible experience and I felt vile and ashamed of myself afterward.

I got my picture taken with a waitress and the meal was free.

The worst part: the meal would have been free anyway since I was there on a press tour.
