Kaori closes, online store coming
Kaori Tea in Covington has closed, but the specialty shop is in the process of setting up an online shop, where owner Steve Kawasaki will offer his imported oolong, black, green and white teas. In the meantime, e-mail owner Kawasaki at kaoritea@fuse.net or check www.kaoritea.com for updates on the online store.
Such a shame. This cute little place is in Covington, near the library. I'd see it from the bus window as I went home each night, and I frequently thought of stopping but never did. I had heard it was a great shop, and I really enjoy specialty teas. Has anyone else ever been there?

I used to walk there occasionally. I'm actually surprised that he stayed open as long as he did. The location was obscure and he didn't really advertise. I bought tea from him occasionally, but I usually order from Tealuxe in Boston or I buy at the Bonbonerie Tea Room because they sell Taylor's of Harrogate. It's still sad that he's closing though. It was a beautiful little shop.
