Eat at Joe's

I'm no shopper. Trust me, I've never met a mall I want to revisit. But there's an exception to every rule. For me, it's Trader Joe's (7778 Montgomery Road, Kenwood). I LOVE this store. I have since the day I discovered the Monrovia, Calif.-based chain five years ago in Chicago. I'm reluctant to share this revelation with those of you who are still in the dark about Joe's because the traffic on Montgomery Road is already insane. BUT as a blogger for The Foodie Report, it is my duty. No, it is my honor. And I'm also honored to recommend one of my favorite dishes: Trader Ming's Mandarin Orange Chicken. Find it in the frozen section in the middle of the store. $4.99 for a 22-ounce bag. All you do is heat up the battered chicken and toss it in the mandarin orange ginger sauce. Buy several bags. You won't regret it. And look for future Joe's recommendations on this site.

Do you have a favorite item from Trader Joe's? Share it with the rest of us.

Fresh Market (Oakley) is another good spot.

As far a TJ's..how about the fact that the (in)famous "Two-Buck Chuck" wine line is five bucks in Ohio.

I'm another Fresh Market fan. Be sure to sign up for their weekly email ads. I already noticed our trips to Jungle Jim's have gone down since we got a Fresh Market here. I think of them both as "special occasion" grocery stores. If only we'd get one in northern Kentucky...

I really like Trader Joes'It's like an adventure... Anyway I love their Vanilla Bean paste, I add it anywhere the recipe calls for vanilla and have had fabulous results, it's pretty cheap too!!
I like to try the different(cheap) wines, if it's too bad just pitch it!!
